In Their Own Words

Back in 2023, I enrolled myself and became a certified etiquette coach through The British School of Excellence. That same year, I launched my academy here in Dubai, where I now teach etiquette, confidence, communication skills, and dining etiquette to children aged 4 to 16, as well as adult learners. Honestly, it has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of my life. I’ve always loved teaching, but now that I’m also a mum, there’s something incredibly rewarding about helping children become more confident, socially aware, and comfortable in different environments. One of the biggest highlights of my journey so far was being invited by The British School of Excellence to deliver part of their Children’s Train the Trainer Programme to 11 aspiring children’s etiquette coaches from around the world, including Asia, Europe, and Africa. Out of all the alumni globally, I felt truly honoured that they trusted me to facilitate and deliver the course. It was such a meaningful experience, and I genuinely hope that the lessons and insights I shared will stay with the learners throughout their own coaching journeys. I can honestly say that the students were highly engaged, enthusiastic, and fully immersed in the sessions, which made the experience even more special for me as a trainer. I’m also deeply grateful to Maria and Leanne for their trust and support in allowing me to be part of this programme and contribute to the development of future etiquette coaches. Living in a time and age when materialism has taken over our principles and morals, which in turn is leaving people without a sense of the real appreciation of life, my thoughts and desire turned to passionately want to help people understand the benefits and importance to live a graceful, dignified life. My venture started as I searched for a School to help me invest and polish my Etiquette and Manners. The British School of Excellence came at the top of the list, and through the professional approach and communication with Philip Sykes, the Principal, and his team, my judgement bore fruit. Great Course that covers all the aspects of Etiquette & manners, amazing community and support

Taking this course was a great experience that allowed me to learn the importance of good manners in all circumstances. I would have liked to learn more about cultural differences in the work environment, how to behave (such as in awkward situations), but I understand the time available is limited.

It was a great experience for me to be a part of this amazing course and deal with the professional coaches. The duration and the timing of the course is very good. I can't rate the Train the Trainer course highly enough. Philip is an energetic coach who embodies etiquette. The guest coaches are all highly relevant. Every day was packed with actionable content for developing myself and my etiquette modules. I finished the week well prepared to start teaching etiquette courses and wishing the course would never end.

Amazing course. Gave me the tools and confidence to be able to teach etiquette modules immediately, for example, Fine Dining and Afternoon Tea. The segments on presentation skills were very helpful with my confidence in public speaking, with lots of actionable improvements. I found the segment on appropriate Attire and Personal Presentation useful for me and my students. Calligraphy was a nice touch as an idea in my classes that students will find fun. All round amazing week and great value.

What an incredible course; Philip is an outstanding and wonderfully inspiring teacher. His knowledge and support are unparalleled. It was such a wonderful week, mixing with so many inspiring people; it is such a shame it had to end!

The British School of Etiquette conducted a Train the Trainer Course in Pakistan on the 1st December 2018. It touched the core of my being and showed me what Etiquette and manners encompass. It was the most exhilarating experience of my life. I wish I had known all those golden nuggets that Mr. Philip Sykes shared with us a long time ago. It’s a very knowledgeable and helpful course that puts you out of the crowd and gives you the power to start your business and the power of selling the etiquette classes you have to affect others.
