About The British School of Excellence

Building confidence. Changing lives.

The British School of Excellence is an international school of etiquette, communication and personal development. We help people become more confident in themselves, more aware of others and better prepared for the situations that matter in life and work.

For more than 13 years, we have welcomed over 5,000 learners and worked across more than 60 countries. Our programmes serve individuals, families, aspiring coaches and organisations — from those taking their first steps in personal development to established luxury brands refining the way they welcome and serve clients.

Our Approach

Etiquette as a practical form of consideration

We see etiquette as a practical form of consideration. It helps you read a room, make someone feel welcome, communicate with care and respond well when a situation is unfamiliar.

That calls for more than memorising rules. It takes judgement, practice and an understanding of cultural differences. Our students come from around the world, and we encourage them to bring their own experience into the classroom. We teach the traditions behind etiquette while helping people apply its principles thoughtfully in modern, international settings.

Coach Certification

Preparing the next generation of etiquette coaches

One of our most important commitments is to the people who will go on to teach others. We have developed three distinct certification routes for coaches with different ambitions. Each brings together subject knowledge, practical teaching methods and the foundations needed to turn expertise into meaningful work.

The British School of Excellence Signature Programme

Our flagship programme is a comprehensive introduction to the practice of professional etiquette coaching. Across five live days, participants study social and business etiquette, fine dining, afternoon tea, personal presence, cultural awareness and the skills involved in teaching these subjects well.

They also work on the practical side of building a coaching practice: structuring lessons, presenting with confidence, identifying an audience, positioning their services and finding clients. The programme welcomes people beginning a new career, established trainers expanding their work and those who want a substantial personal learning experience. Participants join an international cohort and gain access to our wider alumni community.

The next live online Signature Programme takes place from 16 to 20 November 2026, making it possible to study with our faculty from wherever you live.

Our Signature Programme Live in London takes place from 31 May to 4 June 2027. Its five days of in-person teaching include demonstrations, practical sessions, fine dining and afternoon tea experiences — so participants study the principles and experience them in the settings where they will later be expected to teach them.

Children’s Etiquette Certified Coach Programme

Children learn most effectively when teaching feels relevant to their lives. Our Children’s Etiquette Certified Coach Programme prepares educators, coaches and mentors to teach children aged 3 to 12 through age-appropriate activities and clear learning outcomes.

The three-day programme covers greetings, conversation, friendships, teamwork, dining etiquette, emotional awareness and modern manners. Coaches practise how to present and facilitate lessons, and receive teaching resources including plans, worksheets and activities they can adapt for schools, clubs and private sessions. It is a specialist route for those who want to help children build confidence and consideration from an early age.

Youth Etiquette Certified Coach Programme

Teenagers face a different set of social and professional challenges. Our Youth Etiquette Certified Coach Programme prepares coaches to work with young people aged 13 to 18 as they develop their identity, relationships and independence.

The curriculum brings together conversation and listening, social etiquette, responsible digital behaviour, dining, interviews, public speaking and leadership. It also addresses safeguarding, neurodiversity and ways to adapt teaching for different needs. Coaches practise activities and lesson delivery, then receive resources and support as they plan their own youth sessions. The next programme runs live online from 10 to 12 November 2026.

Experiences

Experiences that bring etiquette to life

Learning also happens around a table, through travel and in the company of others. Our London Christmas Experience, from 26 to 29 November 2026, brings guests together for four days of London hospitality, dining, culture and practical etiquette. Guests may join for one day or the complete experience. It reflects something we value throughout the school: the chance to enjoy these skills in real settings, with people from different backgrounds.
